Few days ago I was sitting in home watching news, definitely not to keep me updated about the latest current affairs, but to pass time, while lying like a couch potato. The news channel was presenting award to a well toned, curvy figure actress for being the most applauded youth icon this year.
The event left me guessing, neither any of her movie released this year nor she is associated with any social campaign. For what reason is she enjoying these accolades, may be for her chiseled body and captivating face symmetry. And suddenly I connected all the dots reaching the final conclusion.
Media is a stoop of market defining what we see, what we think, how we think, our likes and dislikes, etc. Media has defined the definition of beauty. Wrinkles, double chin or bulky tummy is a matter of shame and society discard these people. Aging is a natural phenomenon, why curse?
Is media making us feel bad about our body? Yes, don’t go by my words, but various researches all across the world have proved that media has left many scares on the society and further divided according to beauty parameters. Everyone wants to look like that muscular six pack abs guy or curvy sexy blonde.
This is irony and a moment of pity for everyone. You could screw me, if I am just another writer, but I am a certified NLP practitioner practicing NLP for more than a decade. Candidates from all across join NLP certification training Delhi, Mumbai and every major city of India.
NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Program, understanding the expression and language of mind. So as being the practitioner I can easily notice how our mind is conditioned by the media. To find the panacea, self realization is necessary. Don’t be a market puppet.
Don’t be a part of mass consciousness, instead spread your own consciousness everywhere around. Do follow the media blindly, otherwise the results could be hazardous. It can spoil the free flowing charm in a relationship; affect your personal and professional life. You will always try to match the standards set by the media and feel unsatisfied.
At the end of the day what matters is satisfaction. They are hijacking your satisfaction. Body is the only available instrument capable of fulfilling all your pleasures, desires and needs and if you start cursing it, it will stop following your orders. Depression, anxiety and stress is what you will earn by disrespecting your body.
Media is a market gimmick, trust your instincts and feel blessed. Body is the blessing by the God.
